8th DEC 2010 - The rain went away so the boys (& girls) came out to play!
A warm night with a gentle breeze made for great conditions and many of Sydney's off street racers and fans came out to Sydney Dragway and made the most of the pleasant evening ...
Tony Spring peeled out a great .001 in his Commodore with only 30 minutes to go in the Reaction Time competition which held up for the top place and the $300 bucks that goes with it.
Quickest ET of the night went to Joe Geri in his immaculate 4.0L Turbo powered Capri running 9.1s at over 148 mph (240 kays!) over the Quarter Mile!
Ok... Now everyone thinks driving in a straight line is easy right? This was earlier in the evening ...
... and this was later ... oops!
Meanwhile back to the Reaction Time competition ... David Muscat's .002 was only good enough for second place this week!
... and Roderick Barchet slotted his Harley into 3rd spot with a very respectable .007 even with the huge wheel stands!!!
... And speaking of wheel stands crowd favourite of the night was Grant Lewis' Rotary powered E2000 van ripping to front up in the air in fine style!!!
Even our starter, Baldy was impressed!!!
Imagine how many more LJ Toranas the General would have sold if he just put a small block in them from the start! Ben Azmi had his very neat version on the track ...
... and Priscilla Dawson had her 12 second version out showing the boys it is not just all show!!!
Of course no Race for Real Wednesday Night would be complete without our tyre frying friends on the Burnout Out pad ... and Kevin Mackie is always up for giving his V6 powered Corolla a work out ...
With only a few weeks until Christmas you have 2 more opportunities to have some fun with you car and your mates.
We will be running on the 15th and the 22nd of December, however there will be NO Race for Real on December 29.
Please extra take care on the roads over the crazy Christmas period and remember... Street Racing is NOT Drag Racing!!!
